Amelia Cox, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, gave birth to all three of her children at home. Cox works as a Dialysis Nurse, but chose to have her prenatal care and delivery by a midwife after not receiving the care she wanted in a medical setting. For her first pregnancy, she began her prenatal care at a clinic, but after seven months decided to switch to a midwife. Amelia says she felt more comfortable with the one-on-one attention and holistic care provided by a midwife. Her first son, Jude, was born on the porch of a farmhouse in a borrowed tub from a friend. Her daughter, Ruthie, was also born in water, but in a different house, and her youngest, Leonard, was born in water in the home where the family currently lives.
